ÅOOMI In the World — No/rma Grand, Budapest, Hungary

Last October, ÅOOMI team had the pleasure of visiting No/rma Grand, a Nordic-style craft bakery, specialty café, and natural wine bar located in the Millenáris area of Budapest, Hungary.

That day was beautiful, with yellow, red and golden leaves in the air, warm weather, and plenty of people sitting outside and enjoying the last sunny days of the year. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the aroma of freshly roasted coffee and the sight of both locals and tourists sipping their drinks from our ÅOOMI ceramic mugs

We are also excited to share that No/rma Grand is the newer, younger project of the founders of No/rma Bakery which has been using ÅOOMI ceramics for the past five years! It was great to see that they continue to prioritize quality and beautiful design in their new, bigger space.

No/rma Grand is well-known for their specialty coffee, and we were excited to try it out for ourselves. They serve unique Casino Mocca light-roasted coffees from a different growing area every week, with special latte art designs. We were blown away by the care that went into each cup. The baristas took their time to craft each drink, ensuring that the flavors were perfectly balanced and they were very happy to tell us about their favorite breakfast choices. Nordic porridge, grand breakfast or signature Norma salad?

No/rma Grand is not only a great place for coffee, but also for brunch. They offer a wide range of salads, bowls and sandwiches based on sourdough bread, and they have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options as well. And all of them served on ÅOOMI ceramics! Their menu reflects their commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible and and their freshly baked pastries and sweets make perfect desserts or snacks.

No/rma Grand also offers live wines from Lees Brothers and hosts Scandinavian-themed dinner nights. This time we didn’t have time to try them or attend any event, but we saw a few bottles on the shelves and we’re sure that they are worth checking out. Pastries… because it’s a bakery after all!

Freshly baked pastries are something that we can’t resist and the pastries from No/rma Grand are definitely one of a kind. Imagine a croissant filled with raspberry mascarpone cream, fluffy cinnamon and cardamom rolls and cruffins filled with coffee cream!

The MESS collection, which No/rma Grand has been using for over a year now, perfectly complemented the minimalist and modern aesthetic of the café. We were proud to see our ceramics being used in such a great and unique setting but also in such a busy place as it ensured us once again that our plates and mugs couldn’t be more perfect for cafés and restaurants all over the world.

Overall, our visit to No/rma Grand was a memorable experience. We left feeling inspired by the dedication to quality, sustainability, and community that we saw there. AOOMI team petted many dogs, ate far too many pastries and enjoyed the day to the fullest. We look forward to continuing our partnership with No/rma Grand and to seeing our AOOMI ceramics continue to be used in such a beautiful and unique setting.
